The much awaited RE60 from Bajaj would likely be the first one to make a mark as a Quadricycle in the country. Recently, the vehicle in a CNG variant was spotted undergoing test in Thane, Maharashtra. For a while now the company has been waiting to commence the production of RE60 that was stalled after PIL’s were filed claiming the vehicle to be unsafe.
The one spotted on street featured a CNG sticker on the rear and front windscreen which indeed indicates that the vehicle would be offered in CNG variant right from time it goes on sale. The interior carries minimal features looks fairly decent to keep the overall price in-check.
Bajaj RE60 is likely to be powered by 216cc water cooled engine that would generate about 20 Bhp of power. T he Quadricycle is expected to return about 30 kmpl in petrol alone, whereas in CNG, the vehicle may return about 50 - 60kmpl. The company has not spoken on the pricing aspect yet, but based on anticipation the vehicle may be offered for around Rs. 1.5 Lakhs.
