The latest instalment in Bajaj Auto’s much awaited series Pulsar – RS200 – has been launched at Rs. 1.1 lakh (non-ABS version). Only a few other bike series have been so popular in recent times and the firm will be hoping to bank on its reputation for enhancing sales of Bajaj Pulsar RS200. Experts feel that this bike has the potential to perform really well and could do better than the first 200 cc version of Bajaj Pulsar. However, there are several models in the market that can give competition to Pulsar RS200, such as Hero Karizma ZMR and KTM Duke 200. Let’s see how the new Pulsar model could fair against these two bikes.

Bajaj Pulsar RS200, from its first look, seems like a stylish bike that features an intricate and futuristic design. Its front portion, particularly the headlight, looks impressive and is the best part about its appearance. However, the main reasons why experts are betting so much on the success of Pulsar RS200 are its features and mechanical configuration. Bajaj Pulsar RS200 comes with service due indicator, LED tail lamps, monoshock rear suspension and projector headlamps. Also, its higher version comes with Anti-lock Braking System. Under the hood, Bajaj Pulsar RS200 is fitted with a 199 cc engine that will churn out around 24 BHP of power and 19 Nm of torque. According to Bajaj Auto, Pulsar RS200 can reach a top speed of 141 kmph and return a mileage of 54 kmpl.

On the other hand, KTM Duke 200 has created a name for itself in the market despite not touching the heights of some competitors in terms of sales. The highlights of this bike include lightweight die-cast swingarm, lightweight chassis, telescopic fork and high-class braking system. Other features of this bike are ergonomically designed seat, multi-functional instrument panel and three-chamber silencer. KTM Duke 200 is powered by a liquid cooled engine that delivers a power level of 25 bhp and peak torque of 19.2 Nm.

Another model comparing with them is Hero Karizma ZMR, which is highly popular among the young generation. Features like Dual dynamic headlamps and LED position lamps, multi-functional digital console, sporty LED tail light and wide rear tubeless tyre are some of his highlights. This bike comes equipped with an air-cooled four stroke engine that has a displacement of 223 cc. It can produce a maximum power level of 20 bhp with highest torque of 19.7 kmph.

A look at this comparison suggests that in coming times, Bajaj Pulsar RS200 will trump the other two and by quite a distance. Not only does Pulsar RS200 have good output levels, it is freshly designed and delivers excellent fuel economy. The actual performance of Bajaj Pulsar RS200 will be revealed only after a few months but it looks set to beat Hero Karizma ZMR and KTM Duke 200 in terms of figures.
