The demand for sports bikes has been increasing in the Indian market since last five six years. This probably explains the reason behind so many new models being launched regularly in the country. Notably, it is because of the entry-level sports bike segment that international brands are able to compete with top-selling Indian brands directly. One such example is that of KTM and Bajaj, which, other than their partnership, do not have much common as bike manufacturers. However, Bajaj Auto banking on its Pulsar series, keeps taking it to the next level with each passing year. This year, the firm launched Bajaj Pulsar RS200, which is competing with the KTM’s RC200 bike. Let’s take a look at how these bikes stack up when standing against each other.

A first look at Bajaj Pulsar RS200 tells you that a lot has been invested by the firm in ensuring that the models beats its rivals in terms of style and to be fair to the manufacturer, the bike does to a certain extent. The bike feature twin projector HD focus headlamps that look like devil’s eyes in a lot of ways, giving the Pulsar RS200 a mean appearance.

Other highlights of the bike’s appearance include crystal LED tail lights and an aerodynamically efficient muscular body. The main features of this bike are Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), nitrox mono suspension and its fuel injection system. Bajaj Pulsar RS200 is powered by a liquid cooled triple spark engine that has a displacement of 199.5 cc and is capable of delivering a maximum power level of 24 BHP. According to Bajaj Auto, it can reach a top speed of just above 140 kmph.

KTM RC200, by its sheer design, oozes quality, efficiency and performance. The bodywork of this bike is exceptional as it allows the rider to manoeuvre the RC200 at extreme leaning angles. To ensure not being left behind by any automaker in terms of style, KTM has included integrated blinkers, a twin headlight and a thin tail in this bike.

Experts believe that the braking system of KTM RC200 is one of its main highlights and is one of the core components of its top class performance. On the other hand, the pillion ride seat and triple clams facilitate comfort and utility, respectively. Like the Bajaj Pulsar RS200, this bike is also powered by a liquid cooled engine that has a displacement of 199.5 cc. KTM RC200 can deliver a maximum power level of up to 25 BHP and features an efficient six-speed claw transmission system.

From the look of it, there is not much to choose between the two bikes, be it in terms of engine, features or styling. Bajaj Pulsar RS200 is relatively newer in the Indian market and only after a period of constant analysis and reviews from critics can one come to a conclusion and pass a judgement regarding the winner of its battle against KTM RC200.
