Popular Indian automaker has been a major supplier of three and two wheelers across the globe. After Sri Lanka, Bajaj consideres Egypt to be its second biggest market. But the company experienced a steep drop in numbers when Egypt enforced a ban on vehicle imports. From about 2,60,000 units of three-wheelers exported in last fiscal year, Egypt has stated to have contributed about fourth of the company's overall volumes. The ban was initially intended to last for about an year but had to be called off to prevent black marketing in the industry.

Speaking more on the incident, S Ravikumar, President, Business Development and Assurance, Bajaj Auto said, “We got to know from our distributor that the ban on import of two-wheelers and three-wheelers has been lifted. We are very happy that the market has come on stream for us.” He further added, “We expect an incremental volume of 25,000 units of three-wheelers and 20,000 units of motorcycles for the current fiscal from the Egypt market.”

The Indian Auto maker has reportedly received an order for about 5,500 units of three-wheelers and 3,500 units of two-wheelers for the month of June already.
