      The competition in the 150 cc segment of the Indian bike market is stiffer than ever with so many new models coming into the fray. Though there are several models competing, Bajaj Discover 150F, Suzuki Gixxer and Yamaha Fz FI are the frontrunners and have an intense market battle going on.       Bajaj Auto launched the Discover 150F in the Indian market a few months back and the model created a lot of hype. This 150 cc bike has been designed in a stylish manner and features a sharp DC headlamp, a sporty half fairing, sculpted muscular tank and an attractive LED tail lamp. The highlights of this bike include monoshock with nitrox, wide tubeless tyres and petal disc brake. Powered by a 144.8 cc engine, this bike produces a power level of around 14 BHP and can reach a top speed of 110 km. Incredibly; this bike offers a claimed mileage of 72 kmpl, which is extremely impressive.

      Just like the Bajaj Discover 150F, the Suzuki Gixxer also generated a lot of buzz in the market, particularly due to its appearance and style. Claimed to be India’s first street sport bike, this bike features the SEP technology that enhances its performance and efficiency. A sporty looking bike with an edgy styling, the Gixxer is loaded with several features to enhance the comfort of customers. It is powered by a 154.9 cc engine that churns out a power level of 14 BHP and maximum torque of 14 Nm.

      Though not as popular as the other two, the Yamaha FZ FI is certainly no less competitive against the Discover 150F and Suzuki Gixxer. It has been designed using Yamaha’s Blue Core concept to maximise efficiency and performance. The highlight of this bike is the engine, which has a displacement of 149 cc and makes the use of advance sensors and actuators to fathom the optimum fuel level to be delivered. This engine produces a power level of around 12.5 BHP and around 12.8 Nm of torque.
