      Bajaj Auto unveiled its new Pulsar 200 NS

      Bajaj Auto, the world’s fourth largest two- and three-wheeler manufacturer has finally introduced its new model the Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS on 30th January 2012 in Mumbai. The cost of this new product will be disclosed during its launch that would take place in April this year.

      Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director, Bajaj Auto was present during the unveiling of the latest offering. He commented, "The Bajaj Pulsar 200NS is best middle-class sports bike. It will be commercially launched beginning next fiscal through 600 dealers across the country. The price is expected to be below Rs. 1 lakh."

      As per the statement given by the Chief Technology Officer, Abraham Joseph, the new Pulsar 2012 will be assimilated with technologically advanced engine that has enhanced fuel efficiency, performance as well as emission. He added that the new model has DTS-i (Digital Twin Spark- ignition) technology along with a SOHC 4-valve triple spark engine that is regulated by an electronic control unit to enhance the performance of the bike. In addition to these, the new product has a six speed gear box and liquid cooling.

      According to Abraham Joseph, the Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS would be manufactured at company’s Chakan facility, Pune, with production capacity of around 1,00,000 units per month.  

      Till now, the company has been using the traditional twin–spark system in existing Pulsar models, but as per the latest reports the new Pulsar 2012 would be incorporated with the Triple Spark Ignition System. The new product is equipped with a 199.5 cc engine that is capable of producing peak power of 23 hp at 9500 rpm and maximum torque of 18.3 Nm at 8000 rpm. Furthermore, the new Pulsar 200 NS can reach 100 kmph in mere 9.8 seconds. If an individual rides the new model at a speed of 55 kmph, it delivers mileage of 58 kmpl.  

      The new Pulsar 200 NS weighs 145 kg that is 7 kg lighter than the company’s current fastest motorcycle Pulsar 200 DTS-i. This new product by Bajaj Auto has top speed of 136 kmph that will make it the fastest motorcycle ever manufactured by an Indian automobile enterprise.

These sporty iconic motorcycles have been a testimony to the company's engineering prowess. The Pulsar 200NS showcases next leap in technology and design and will set the standard for others to follow."

      The company has revealed that Bajaj Auto will look forward to bring more technologically advanced variants in the coming years. The line-up of new models in 2012 is expected to boost the market share of Bajaj Auto in the domestic motorcycle market from 26% to 32%.
