The upcoming 2012 Delhi Auto Expo will see the presence of All-Terrain Vehicles developed by engineering students. The vehicles have been assembled by the students under the umbrella of SAEINDIA, a professional federation of automotive engineers having the vision for continually expanding the knowledge base of engineers and students working in the mobility sector.
The students designed the 4-wheel single-seater racing vehicles at BAJA SAEINDIA, a national level event. The fifth edition of the event in India is an educational initiative for engineering students that will be held between 17th and 19th February 2012 at Indore, Madhya Pradesh. The all-terrain racing models developed under the initiative will boast of acceleration, manoeuvrability, hill climbing ability and endurance due to the presence of new technologies and high-tech electronics and drive train systems.
Mahindra & Mahindra is leading the initiative at the 5th BAJA SAEINDIA, which is supported by many other corporate firms. Talking about the all-terrain vehicles being put on display by BAJA at the expo, Dr. Pawan Goenka, President, Automotive & Farm Equipment Sectors, Mahindra & Mahindra, commented, “Innovation and ideas are the benchmark of young India, as is evident in the display of the All Terrain Vehicles at the Auto Expo.
