      The country's biggest auto fest, the Auto Expo 2014 is all geared up for extravaganza of different car and bike makes. From past 11 years, the event has been providing a great platform for Indian and International car makers to showcase their new cars or concept models. Organizers of the event have been quoted as saying, that this year's event shall be biggest one held till date.

      As per sources, it is said that as many as 75 passenger cars, utility vehicles, two-wheelers and commercial vehicles are scheduled for showcase next month. This numbers have taken a considerable jump from the 47 vehicles that were showcased and launched during the 2013 Auto Expo event. The upcoming event is considered to be the largest auto show in any subcontinent. It is said that 47 companies shall participate in this year's Auto expo event. Breaking up the number game, it’s around 23 makers of passenger cars and utility vehicles, 14 of two-wheeler makers, 10 of commercial vehicle makers, and 6 of electric vehicle makers.

      Sugato Sen, deputy director general of Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers, stated, “The auto show next year will be the largest in terms of participation. As many as 47 automobile manufacturers have confirmed their presence. The increase in the number of participants has made us increase the exhibit area by 45 per cent this year to 64,000 square metres. There will be 14 pavilions to display vehicles and three hangars”. Sources have also stated that Tata Motors shall launch the highest number of vehicles during the event. In terms of number, Tata is expected to launch 11 vehicles – 4 from JLR collaboration and seven from Tata Motors.

      The 11th Auto Expo in New Delhi witnessed over 1,500 participants from over 23 countries. The event witnessed around 32 car launches, of which, 8 were global launches. The event was scheduled earlier in comparison to this year’s event amidst chilly winter mornings from the 5th to the 11th of January. The Pragati Maidan venue, heated up the venue with sensational two-wheeler power machines, four-wheelers, technology, and commercial vehicles, under one single global automotive platform. Some of the highly awaited launches for the year were unveiled at the venue. Some of the notable ones were the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga MPV, the all-new Hyundai Sonata, the Nissan Evalia (NV200), seven motorcycles by Triumph, the Audi Q3 compact SUV and the street-fighter model from Ducati, and the 795.
