In what appears to be a first of a kind instance, the organisers at the Auto Expo 2014 have decided to split the biennial event in two parts that will be organised at different places. According to the organisers, the upcoming motor event will be divided into two parts namely Motor Show and Component Show. For this the team has chalked out two different venues to make room for the huge event. In Greater Noida, the motor show that will comprise of major auto makers will be held from 5th to 11th of February. While for the component show, Pragati Maidan will play host from 6th to 9th of February.

Speaking on the development, Vikram Kirloskar, the President of Society of Indian Automobile Manufactures said “Due to space restrictions we are unable to have it here at Pragati Maidan. So, we have divided into two shows. The organizers still favour holding the entire show at one venue if the infrastructure support is available. We are looking for a new venue for the next expo. We would like to have both component and motor show together because they are interlinked.”

Auto Expo is jointly organised by Confederation of Indian Industry, Society of Indian Automobile Manufactures and Automotive Component Manufacturers Association at Pragati Maidan but due to a number of valid reasons, the biennial event will now be jointly held at Greater Noida and Pragati Maidan. Since the last edition, the number of participants have increased by a significant amount. New entrants like Chrysler, Isuzu Motors and DSK Hyosung would be seen at the next year's Auto Expo. Apart from the 41 auto companies, some of the other participants will include tyre and lubricant manufacturing companies.

At the Greater Noida venue that is known as India Expo Mart, a total of 75000 persons can be dealt with at a single time. There will be three different categories that will be assigned to the participants, one shall be badged Visitors, Exhibitors/Media and VIPs. On the first day of motor show, the entry will be restricted for the public and only media persons shall have the authority to enter the venue. For general public the venue will be open from 6th of February. During the week days, business persons can visit the place any time between 10 am to 1 pm.

India Expo Mart currently has 3456 square metre of space for organising exhibitions like these. The venue comprises 8 halls that are located on the ground and first floor. Also to mention, the interior space is around 27648 square metres apart from the additional space of 33600 square metres that is available outside in open lawns. As far as the tickets of the venue are concerned, they will be available from November 2013 at all Barista outlets and Delhi metro stations while one can also book them online at bookmyshow.com. However, the issue of accommodating a large of number of vehicle in the parking space remains as headache for the organisers but since scheduled date for the event is far ahead, the organiser would definitely come up with a plan to utilise the empty spaces.
