BMW finally launched the extremely eagerly awaited BMW 3 Series GT at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo with a price tag of Rs. 42.75 lakh. The German luxury car manufacturer is now ready to produce this car at its plant in Chennai and will put their latest launch on sale in March, 2014. The BMW 3 Series GT is basically the longer version of the regular BMW 3 Series sedan, with the GT's longer wheelbase adding quite a a lot of room in the cabin, more so at the rear seats.

Other than the added space, the rear seats also recline, a feature that will most certainly appeal to the car's audiences. And even though the 3 Series GT looks a lot like the BMW 5 Series GT, its styling, plush interiors and augmented driving dynamics work on setting the car apart. Furthermore, it also comes with a lift-back boot and a boot space worth 520 litres that can be further expanded to 1,600 litres by folding the seats.

But what really makes this work art by BMW is its 3.0-litre straight-six cylinder diesel engine mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. This powertrain allows the car to accelerate from 0 - 100kmph in just 8 seconds. The all-new BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo also comes loaded with novel safety features namely: six air bags, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) including Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), Cornering Brake Control, Electronic vehicle immobiliser and crash sensor, side impact protection and impact absorbing front and rear bumpers.
