BMW Motorrad, the two-wheeler subsidiary of German luxury car maker BMW is an experienced player in the Indian auto industry. Currently the company is offering a range of motorcycles to India namely, HP 2 Sport, the K 1300 series, K 1600 series, R 1200 series, and the S 1000 RR. For Delhi Auto Expo, BMW stand can be expected to display the new K 1600 GT and K 1600 GTL grand tourers. The two models have won ‘International Bike of the Year’ award that was presented by Supertest World Association (SWA), which comprises 14 leading international motoring magazines.

With the aim of offering highest levels of performance and comfort, BMW Motorrad introduced the new K 1600 GT with in-line 6-cylinder, 1649 cc engine and is compact than the predecessor. It produces 160 bhp of peak power and 175 Nm torque, along with a high speed that can be attained even at low rpm.

The K 1600 GTL has been given a design that suits long trips and offers immense comfort to front as well as pillion rider. The body around the rider's seat has been provided with a sleeker design and the handlebars are flexible enough to allow the rider to relax, for hours, during long drives. The rear-end of K 1600 GTL, too, satisfies the pillion passenger with large seating area and a backrest to ease-out.

Visitors at the Auto Expo can also witness the showcasing of company’s urban mobility vehicles namely, the C 600 Sport and C 650 GT.  The two new BMW Maxi range scooters carry the same 657 cc engine that churns out 60 bhp of power and 67.7 Nm torque. BMW C 650 GT has been produced exclusively to meet the big city needs where lack of parking space and congestion are a common phenomena.

On the other hand, though BMW C 600 Sport is an easy riding scooter, it is unlikely to be a right option for long trips. BMW C 600 Sport has compact seats and lesser cargo space as against the C 650 GT. BMW Motorrad has produced C 600 Sport to cater to the performance and acceleration needs of buyers.

In addition, BMW Motorrad will come up with its range of riding gear and accessories like the limited edition 2012 K1300 S with the HP Package. Thus, BMW is set to count on the Auto Expo in the best possible way and penetrate its products in the Indian market with maximum force.
