      Auto Expo 2012: Auto Expo to serve as a launching platform for car makers

      Car lovers from all across the globe are filled with enthusiasm as they wait for the arrival of Asia’s biggest car show, Auto Expo 2012. It is expected that around 60 new cars will be launched at the Auto Expo, commencing from 7th January 2012 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.

      Brands like Maruti, Toyota, Hyundai, Honda, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Audi have already announced their participation in the mega event. The car manufacturers will use the platform to showcase and launch their new products in the Indian auto market.

      Maruti Suzuki will have the largest exhibition area at the upcoming Auto Expo. The car maker is likely to exhibit its multi purpose vehicle Ertiga, a series of Suzuki bikes, an upgraded version of Swift, a compact SUV and Maruti 800 replacement.

      After Maruti, Tata Motors will lead the event by bringing forth its range of trucks and buses along with Jaguar Land Rover products. Besides this, Safari Storm and a diesel-powered Nano are also likely to be unveiled. Mahindra & Mahindra is all set to come up with Reva electric car. Hyundai will present its Veloster and a compact SUV at the expo.

      The company might also exhibit new versions of its Elantra and Sonata saloons. Toyota will put on display a facelifted Fortuner SUV, Camry and Innova at the grand event. It is also expected that Bajaj might also venture into the car segment with its Ultra Low-cost Car (ULC).

      The German auto maker Volkswagen is expected to showcase its new Touareg SUV. From Ford’s side, EcoSport compact SUV and Fiesta hatchback will be displayed, while Chevrolet is expected to showcase its Sail small saloon.

      NV200 utility vehicle from Nissan will also be seen at the show. Leading French auto maker Renault will exhibit its hatchback Pulse and Duster SUV. In the luxury segment, BMW will showcase its widely acclaimed Mini range. At the same time, Mercedes-Benz will display its A-Class concept and Audi will bring in its Q3 model.
