Audi seems to have its hands full for the rest of the next few years. The Ingolstadt-based carmaker has already announced its plans to introduce three different electric vehicles by the turn of this decade. These three EV models include a sportscar, a hatchback and an SUV. Audi has now teased an all-new EV concept that will take the stage at the Shanghai motor show in coming few days.
The design sketches of the concept give us a glimpse of a sleek silhouette, high ground clearance and obscenely big wheels. Audi’s enchantment with LED continues with the e-tron Sportback concept, which hosts a plethora of LED trickery. Audi’s four-ringed logo is illuminated, and the rear-view mirrors have been ditched for slender camera mounts. On the inside, one can expect a Virtual Cockpit with many more advanced features and futuristic touches.
No details of the powerplant have been revealed yet. But the e-tron designation hints at an unconventional powertrain like all the e-tron concepts before it, and more specifically, like the e-tron quattro concept showcased in 2015.
It is speculated that this all-new e-tron Sportback could very well spawn the new electric SUV, or simply lend its design and technical features to the Q6 e-tron due in 2018.
