Audi India has finally rolled out the RS6 Avant in India at Rs. 1.35 crore (ex-showroom, New Delhi). The performance version of the A6 - RS6 Avant – is India’s first estate that has been brought as CBU (completely buil-up unit).
Under the hood, the RS6 Avant features a 4.0-litre, 32V V8 TFSI bi-turbo engine, which is the same engine that powers the RS7 Sportback. Paired with an 8-speed tiptronic transmission, it develops a massive 560bhp of power at 5700rpm – 6600rpm, while yielding a peak torque of 700Nm at 1750rpm – 5500rpm. The RS6 Avant is capable to mark 0-100kmph in 3.9 seconds. Its electronic speed limit ranges from 250kmpl to 304kmph. Audi’s Quattro all-wheel drive system is also on offer.
This V8 powertrain has Audi's valvelift cylinder-on-demand technology coupled with start stop system. This technology operates the engine on four cylinders, while the intake and exhaust valves of additional two cylinders close each side when not needed. It also aids to the fuel efficiency of the car. The RS6 Avant shares its resemblance with the A6 and S6 facelifts.
The RS6 Avanat has a commanding road presence with aggressive front fascia, a single-piece grille, adaptive LEDs or Matrix lights, new LED DRLs, large 20-inches alloy wheels and new taillight. While the black leather upholstery with red and silver highlights and RS adaptive air suspension with dynamic ride control and lowered ride height come as standard features, 21-inches alloys are optional.
