Audi seems aggressive with its product strategy in the Indian car market. The company decided to launch 10 new cars this year out of which, the A3 Cabriolet has already been introduced. The company has now imported the RS6 Avant in India, indicating that this could be launched soon here. The RS6 is basically the station wagon/estate derivative of the A6 Avant. It is bestowed with powerful engine, spacious interiors and several segment-leading features.
The Audi RS6 Avant is powered by a 4.0-litre turbocharged V8 engine that churns out 560bhp of power along with a massive 700Nm of torque. This engine is coupled to an eight-speed automatic gearbox, which sends power to all four wheels with the help of Audi's Quattro AWD system. The Powerful station wagon accelerates to 100kmph from zero in less than 4 seconds before hitting a top speed of 304kmph.
If this performance-oriented RS6 Avant station wagon is launched in the country, it will be priced around Rs. 1 crore. In international markets, the vehicle competes against the likes of Jaguar XFR-S Sportbrake and Mercedes E63 AMG Estate.
Audi India is currently preparing for the launch of new 2015 Audi TT coupe, which is scheduled to go on sale on April 23rd, 2015. The new TT is based on the modern MQB platform, and is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that is good for 230bhp of power and 370Nm of torque.
