      Audi RS 7 to be launched today

      Audi is finally launching the new RS 7 model in Indian market today. Sources close to the process said that the upcoming model will be performance edition of A7 sedan. The car will come equipped with a 4-litre V8 TFSI (Turbo Fuel Stratified Injection) engine, which will belt out a maximum power around 553 bhp with a torque of up to 700 Nm. Adding to the performance of this engine is an 8-speed tiptronic gearbox, incorporated with Audi’s Quattro all-wheel drive technology. With this configuration, RS 7 can smoothly clock 100 kmph from initial in just 3.7 seconds, further reaching up to 300 kmph. Industry experts are of a view that all these figures will assist 2014 RS 7 to perform real wonders on Indian roads. Notably, RS 7 will be the most powerful model from the German auto maker in Indian market.

      Apart from being a technical marvel from Audi, the car comes with a lot more luxury features which will make it an awe-inspiring model. With a weight of around 2 tonnes, one can expect the robust build the quality material packed within the upcoming Audi RS 7. With such a heavy approach, it is being speculated that the car will not be efficient in terms of fuel economy. However, the upcoming Audi RS 7 will feature a unique cylinder-on-demand technology, which will automatically close the cylinder valves at low speeds. This smart technology helps in reducing the fuel consumption during normal driving conditions and also enhances the life of engine.

      One of the main highlights of RS 7 are its Valcona leather upholstery with honeycomb quilting and RS badge embossed on gear shift knob and door handles. Interiors are packed with MMI navigation system with voice control and night vision assist, which together make the car more user-friendly. It must be noted that the standard A7 model comes equipped with a 3.0-litre engine and is offered for somewhere around Rs. 85 lakh. Considering this technical specification and price tag, it is expected that the RS 7 will be offered for around Rs. 1.5 crore; however nothing is confirmed as of now. It is believed that post launch, Audi RS 7 will square off against the likes of Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG and BMW M5.
