Audi has always been at the apex of car-technology innovations and this time it has gone the extra mile to reveal a super stylish electronic super car, which apparently has the potential to drive itself. The R8 e-tron has been ideally designed and developed to show the huge technological advancement that the German manufacturer holds in future. This includes a special lightweight structure as well as super-sophisticated systems, which can allow it to impart the feel of supercars despite being powered by batteries. The company has added the extra bit of technology to make the car capable of self-driving itself. The car now uses sensors, which makes it capable of being manoeuvred and be driven efficiently.

The concept model was initially shown at CES Asia, the place where the company had revealed that the car could be driven at 0 to 100 kilometres per hour in just a matter of 3.9 seconds. The car can reach a top speed of 250 kilometres per hour during the course. The specially designed T-shaped battery also comes with a light frame, which gives it the ability to absorb collisions.

The company has now enhanced the technology by giving it a series of sensors, which also includes a laser scanner, a number of video cameras and radar as well as ultrasonic sensors. The data from these devices is fed into the central driver assistance control unit (zFAS), which is a central computer installed in the system. The data is utilised to make a comprehensive image of the immediate and instantaneous surroundings of the car. With this technology, the car is capable of driving itself. Also, this enables the car to utilise the battery in a more efficient way.

The German automobile manufacturer has said that it can manufacture the car according to the customised requests of its esteemed clients from across the globe. However, the primary aim of manufacturing the car will be to make it a house of technology and superior systems, which would finally lead to it becoming a production-ready model in the near future.
