      Audi Q3 rolled out in Indian subcontinent; only 500 units available in first lot

      The coveted Audi Q3 compact crossover compact Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) has been launched by the German car maker in the country without much fanfare; the base variant bearing a starting price tag of Rs. 26.21 lac. The company has priced the higher variant of the highly awaited model at Rs. 31.41 lac (Ex-showroom Mumbai). In the first batch of bookings, only 500 units will be available for sale. Audi will provide all the features and accessories in both the variants initially through its network of 19 dealerships in India.

      Built to deliver 175 hp and 380 Nm of torque, the familiar 2.0 TDi quattro diesel engine will be the force behind this compact crossover. Audi's S-tronic gearbox and the Quattro All Wheel Drive (AWD) system compliments the powertrain as the model launched here is the top variant of the crossover SUV. In terms of price the Q3 will compete with the BMW X1 and coming to size and equipment it will go head on with Range Rover Evoque.

      According to Michael Perschke, Head, Audi India, “The launch of the Audi Q3 is in line with our top-down strategy for India. The Q3 is immediately recognizable as the youngest member of the Audi Q family. Now we are starting the next chapter of our success story: As a true luxury SUV, the Audi Q3 leads the way for the Four Rings to enter a new segment in India, with ever increasing customer groups demanding for luxury mobility in a compact form. Every aspect of the Q3 showcases Audi technology – the body, the drivetrain, the chassis and the assistance and multimedia systems. Many of these elements come directly from the luxury class. At present, only 500 Audi Q3’s will be available for initial booking. We are confident that Audi Q3 will repeat the success of Audi Q5 and Audi Q7 and further consolidate our leadership position in the luxury SUV segment.”

      The standard interior features of the latest model in Audi India's ever-growing domestic line-up include Interior lighting package, floor mats at front and rear and leather-covered multifunction steering wheel in 4-spoke design. Its exterior features include roof rails, heat-insulating glass, black trim strips, exterior mirrors, electrically adjustable, heated and electrically folding, halogen headlights with separate daytime running lights and headlight range adjustment. Safety package of the model consists of Electronic Stabilisation Programme (ESP), space-saving spare wheel, first aid kit and warning triangle and car jack. Along with these, the car features full size airbag, side airbags at front and rear (with head airbag), electronic vehicle immobilisation device and ISOFIX child seat mounting.

      Base variant of the model has comfort features like manual air conditioning system, hill start assist, electromechanical parking brake, reversible load floor and standard seat at front with 4-way lumbar support. Along with these, electric seat adjust for right seat, manual height adjust for left seat and folding rear seat-back are also present in this variant. Some of the additional features present in the higher variant of the model are LED interior lighting package, high gloss package, walnut balsamic brown inlays and deluxe automatic air conditioning system with sun sensor. These are joined by Audi parking system plus, automatic headlight-range adjustment dynamic and electrically adjustable front seats. Infotainment system of the car is centred on the Audi sound system and provides driver information system with colour display. On the other hand, the base variant's infotainment system features concert radio, passive speakers, driver information system, Audi music interface, voice dialogue system and Bluetooth Interface.
