The new Audi Q2 has been given a full five star rating in the Euro NCAP tests, making it one of the safest vehicles in its class. The India-bound model, in fact, scored top marks for both adult and child safety, for pedestrian protection and other safety systems.
According to Euro NCAP, emergency braking systems were introduced to the evaluation procedure in 2016. Given that it’s equipped with the emergency braking assist, the Q2 managed to score high and earn itself the crucial full five star safety rating. As for the system itself, it examines whether other vehicles or pedestrians are in the path of the vehicle. If a collision is imminent, it warns the driver and if necessary initiates automatic emergency braking.
With prices starting at around 22,900 Euros (Rs 17.20 lakh), the Q2 is being targeted at buyers with larger Mercedes and BMW models who are looking to downsize their vehicles. Audi India, in fact, is looking to cater to the rising number of young luxury car buyers with the Q2. The latter will be positioned as the most affordable Q model from Audi with prices starting at around Rs 25 lakh mark.
