Audihas issued a statement regarding the debut of its new A5. This saloon will be introduced at a lightshow at Audi’s museum in Ingolstadt, Germany on June 2.
Though the A5 has been caught on camera a few times, there’s hardly any information available on the new car. Nevertheless, from the pictures, we can see that the new A5 incorporates a wider stance and houses design cues from both the new A4 and the outgoing A5. While Audi added in their release that the regular model will be displayed at the museum, we can expect the S5 coupe to also get the same treatment soon.
Audi’s new A5 will get the earlier turbocharged 2.0-litre mill in a different state of tune. However, the car maker could opt to drop the eight-speed automatic gearbox and use the new seven-speed dual clutch transmission. While the Quattro all-wheel drive will be sold as an option, expect the front-wheel drive to be standard on this model. Audi currently sells the S5 in India and could get the new S5 here when it is launched.
