Audi is among the leading trio in the global luxury car market, alongside Mercedes-Benz and BMW and for 2016, the former has lined-up a rather substantial range of forthcoming cars. Following a successful albeit eventful 2015, Audi has announced that it will launch 20 new and updated models globally in 2016.

Thanks to the introduction of important new models like the all-new generations of the Q7 and the A4, Audi had a substantial 2015 despite the challenging market conditions. Furthermore, the brand even introduced us all to the all-new R8 and a handful of upgraded RS models.

For 2016, Audi is banking heavily on its SUV and crossover range for success. With the forthcoming Q2, Audi is stepping into a lower budget market space for more volumes. At the same time, the brand is also working on an all-new generation of the Q5 which is expected to be unveiled later this year. In all, Audi is making investments of more than €3 billion in 2016 and is already building an entirely new manufacturing facility in Mexico which will roll out certain Q models including the forthcoming generation of the Q5.

Besides the all-new Q2 that’s arrived at the ongoing Geneva Motor Show, Audi has at least 19 more new and refreshed models for global launch this year. This new range will include products like the A4, the S4 and their respective Avant versions and the A5. As for the Q range, there will be an all-new Q5 and a plug-in hybrid as well as a performance model of the Q7, namely the Q7 e-tron and the SQ7. Lastly, the brand’s 2016 performance range will include the R8 convertible, the TT RS Coupe and the RS3 sedan.
