Audi cars make-up for about 2 per cent share in the country's domestic luxury cars market. And the company seems to be on a roll in terms of growth it has witnessed here; they sold 10,002 units in 2013, an increase of about 11 per cent over the previous year. The company also opened 11 new dealerships last year. Audi India's head Joe King said that they will continue to work hard on their network expansion strategy, and intend to increase their network to 40 dealerships by the end of this year.

Audi AG Vice President (Overseas Sales) Terence Johnson also spoke about the growth of Indian luxury car market, and said that the sector is growing at about 7 per cent, which is a good growth but not huge. He expects the sector to grow at a rate of 5-7 per cent this year in India, but believes a growth of over 10 per cent will do wonders.
