      Audi India set to rise car prices by 3% effective May 1st

      Audi India will be increasing price of its vehicles by three per cent effective May 1, 2014 to nullify the effect spiralling input cost and wavering currency. Commenting on the company’s decision to hike prices of its cars, Mr. Joe King, Head, Audi India said, “Audi India has registered outstanding sales performance in last calendar year and the company has performed exceedingly well in the first quarter of 2014, the market scenario has remained stagnant with continual variation inforexrate affecting input and operational costs immensely. Audi India has reconciled prices, but at the same time the company has made sure that the repercussion is minimum. Besides this, Audi India’s financial arm, Audi Finance will continue to proffer our customers innovative finance solutions.”

      Audi offers a wide variety of vehicles in India, the company has three SUV's in its stable, Q3, Q5 and Q7. Q3 being the entry level SUV caters to a large number of customers in the entry level premium SUV segment. Among the sedans, ardent Audi admirers have a choice to opt from 5 vehicles including A4, A6, A7, S6 and A8L. Yet another entrant in the sedan segment will be joining the band wagon this year as the company is planning to launch Audi A3 in the domestic market which will be positioned as the entry level premium sedan. Among the Sports range, Audi has flagship R8,TT, RS5 and RS 7Sportbackin its stable.

      Followed by the magnificent performance delivered by the company in 2013, Audi continues upsurge in monthly sales by registering highest ever sales record in first quarter of 2014 at 2,740 units. In March 2014, itself Audi sold as many as 1404 units registering a hike in sales by 18% as against 1104 units sold in the same time last year. The company also ended last fiscal on a happy note with a jump in sales at 10126 units for FY 2013-2014 as compared to 9350 units sold in FY 2012-2013.
