      Audi India registers 98% sales growth in July 2012, missions to grab top spot by 2015

      After grabbing the second spot in the Indian luxury market, Audi India is spearheading to render head on rivalry to its foremost contender, BMW India by attaining a whopping 93 percent growth in the sales volume in July this year. The automaker sold 680 units in the month of July 2012 as compared to the sale of 343 units in July last year. The sales achieved during January to July 2012 showcase a growth by 49 percent against the sales scored during the period under review in 2011.

      Mr. Michael Perschke, Head of Audi India, commented that the company has so far sold 4,680 cars in the current year and with a growth of 49 percent, India has place itself in the top three markets for Audi, globally. The company is confident of attaining sales target of 8,000 cars in the current year with the robust consumer preference for the brand in the Indian market.

      The high sales growth was majorly led by the compact executive car Audi A4, executive sedan A6 and the highly upbeat and premium crossover SUV, Audi Q3. The futuristic styling, class leading interiors backed by highly efficient performance dynamics and state of the art technology contributed exponentially to the high sales of Audi A4. The revolutionary debut of Audi Q3 attracted the affluent youth of the nation boosting the sales to a new level.

      The premium car maker is missioned to grab the top spot by 2015 and in this direction, the company is intending to expand the count of sales touch points from 20 to 25 by the end of 2012.
