      Mumbai: Audi, the German luxury car manufacturer, continued its excellent performance in India, with sales of 302 cars in September 2010- a 47 percent growth over September 2009 sales (205 cars).  The company has sold 2178 cars from January – September 2010, recording a growth of 63 percent over the same period in 2009 (1333 cars, January – September 2009).

      “Our successful run in India continues in September 2010. This encouraging performance can be credited to our loyal customers who truly appreciate Audi’s philosophy of ‘Vorsprung durch Technik’ which combines elegant luxury with dynamic performance. We are confident that we are well poised to achieve annual sales of 3000 cars this year, which exceeds our revised annual target of 2700 cars. Our focus on network expansion and the introduction of new  cars and energetic products over the next few months, is in line with our growth strategy for India.” said Michael Perschke, Head – Audi India.

      “Our product offensive will begin with the launch of the much-awaited Audi A8LWB, towards the end of this year. We are happy to retain our leadership position in the luxury SUV segment for the period January – September 2010. We recently added a new engine variant – the 3.0 TFSI to our highly successful SUV - Audi Q7and with the renewal of our limousines beginning with the Audi A8 we are extremely bullish on the year 2011,” he added.

      The Audi model range in India includes , Audi A6, Audi Q5, Audi Q7, Audi TT and the super sports car Audi R8, available at Audi dealershipsacross the country: in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kochi, Kolkata, Ludhiana, Mumbai West and Pune. Further developments include Coimbatore, Indore, Lucknow, Mumbai South and Surat.
