      Audi India records 47 percent sales growth ahead of new launches and expansion plans

      Audi India, the Indian unit of the German premium brand has proved its strengthened position in the country with a drastic shoot up in the sales volume from 681 units in the month of March last year to 1002 units in this March.

      With sales growth of 47 percent in the last month, the company is stepping towards an increasingly high sales and revenue in the year 2012. It is also to be mentioned here that the exponential growth achieved by Audi India of 1002 units is almost equal to its total annual sales in the country in 2008 of 1050 units.

      Mr. Michael Perschke, Head of Audi India, was quoted as saying, "Our impressive sales performance this quarter is testimony to the positive customer response to progressive design, world-class services and high qualitative network growth." He further added, "Our business luxury limousine, Audi A6 and the Audi A4 have contributed greatly to this sales performance."

      The company also revealed that the quantum of sales recorded in 2012 Q1 stands at 2269 cars with a growth of 41 percent as compared to the sales of 1611 units registered in the corresponding period in the last year.

      The impressive sales figures of this subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, in the month of March has further stimulated the company to pace up the dealer network expansion plans in the country.

      The new launches by the company include a SUV, Audi Q3 and a compact executive saloon, Audi S6 and a newer version of its bestselling sedan, Audi A4.
