German luxury car maker Audi inaugurated its new dealership in Coimbatore, which has become its second outlet in the state of Tamil Nadu and the fifth in the whole of South India. This state-of-the-art showroom was opened by Michael Perschke, Head, Audi India along with Anandakrishnan CR, Managing Director, Audi Coimbatore (Jahnvi Motors Pvt Ltd). The new outlet is a part of the manufacturer's vision for a high quality growth network, which is one of the three pillars of its growth strategy.

On this momentous occasion, Perschke stated, “Audi already has a strong presence in the southern market with showrooms in key markets like Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad and Kochi. The opening of a new showroom in Coimbatore reflects our commitment to offer our customers with an unparalleled luxury experience of class defining products and world-class services that truly emphasise our core brand values of progressiveness, sophistication and sportiness.”

Perschke also commented, “We have been steadfast in expanding our network so as to achieve the target of selling at least 8000 cars by the end of this year. It is this ability to identify potential markets and tap them with right products that has helped us maintain our position as the fastest growing luxury car brand in India. Audi has bagged 27 awards for our class defining products such as the A8, A7 and the A6 and this not only reinforces our brand’s appeal but also the prominent position that we have taken in India’s luxury car market. I am confident that our impressive sales performance where we achieved the No. 2 position in the first quarter coupled with the recent launch of the Audi TT and imminent arrival of the new Audi A4 and our fast expanding dealer network will ensure that Audi maintains its position as the fastest growing luxury car brand in India.”

Built over an area of 6,102 sq. ft., the exteriors of this new showroom feature honeycomb aluminium façade. The display area of the outlet can easily accommodate 6 Audi models at a time. This outlet is home to an Audi Shop as well as an Audi Exclusive, where patrons can place orders for tailor made products and buy a host of branded merchandise offered by this car maker. Audi Coimbatore will exhibit all the models that the company presently provides in the domestic auto market.

Anandakrishnan said, “It is a matter of great pride for us to be appointed as an Audi dealer and we hope the opening of this new showroom in Coimbatore announces the beginning of a longstanding association with Audi. At Audi Coimbatore, we will ensure that customers are provided with a distinct luxury experience that the brand with the four rings is known for globally.”

Through Audi Coimbatore, the company will also handle its exclusive Audi service unit situated at Avinashi Road. This workshop is sprawled over an area of 13,250 sq. ft. and can service a total of 10 cars each day in a single shift on 5 bays. Audi has appointed technicians who are well trained so that only top-of-the-line services are rendered to the clients.

Audi India has drafted a plan to raise its dealership network to 25 outlets from the existing 18 showrooms by the end of 2012. In March 2012, it opened a centre in Nagpur and in April 2012, a unit was inaugurated in West Delhi, along with this outlet in Coimbatore.
