With the expanding demand for the premium segment models in the Indian auto market, Audi India has been experiencing high demand for its elegant and upbeat Indian portfolio in the recent months. The SUVs have become a rage in the country and owing to this fact; the German auto manufacturer has launched its compact SUV, Q3 in India.
Mr. Michael Perschke, Head, Audi India, was quoted as saying, "The launch of the Audi Q3 is in line with our top-down strategy for India. At present, only 500 Audi Q3s will be available for initial booking."
He further added, "We are confident that Audi Q3 will repeat the success of {C}Audi Q5{C} and {C}Audi Q7{C} and further consolidate our leadership position in the luxury SUV segment."
Audi Q3 will be sold in India through the company’s 19 dealerships across the nation and the automaker will be implementing the penetrating price strategy, which is designed to introduce the new model at a lower and highly competitive price in a bid to capture the major chunk of the market. BMW X1will pose as the main contender for the Audi Q3 along with other major rivals such as Toyota Fortuner, Hyundai Santa Fe and Chevrolet Captiva.
Audi Q3, the smaller sibling of the Audi Q5 and Q7 is powered with 2.0 TDI Quattro engine and is tagged with a price of Rs.26.21 lakh (ex-showroom Maharashtra) for the base version while top end version will be priced Rs. 31.49 lakh (ex-showroom Maharashtra).
Mr. Perschke also affirmed that despite of the challenging economic conditions persisting in India, the company’s aim for the current fiscal will be product and dealer network expansion along with new launch line up.
