      Audi India attains highest monthly sales and the strongest first Quarter sales ever

      Audi, the German luxury auto maker, marked decent sales during the first quarter of 2012, as the company delivered 2269 cars in the auto market of India. With these figures the company recorded brilliant growth of 41 per cent, as compared to 1611 cars, which were sold during the corresponding period last year. Stepping ahead for 2012 with confident stance, the company carried its growth curve with the sales of 1002 vehicles during March 2012. With this, the company marked a growth of 47 per cent over the same tenure as it sold 681 vehicles in March 2011. These figures were nearly parallel to the annual sales for 2008 of Audi India, which amounts to 1050 cars.

      Michael Perschke, Head, Audi India, said, “Our impressive sales performance this quarter is testimony to the positive customer response to progressive design, world-class services and high qualitative network growth. We further strengthened our dealer network with the opening of a new Audi showroom in Nagpur recently and have planned for more developments on this front later this year. Our recently launched high performance sports Coupe Audi TT, has received an overwhelming response from customers across the country. Our business luxury limousine, Audi A6 and the Audi A4 have contributed greatly to this sales performance. This is the beginning of what we believe will be Audi’s most successful year in India to date and I am confident that we will continue to meet the needs and demands of the young and aspirational Indian luxury car buyer.”

      Audi has emerged as one of the fastest developing luxury car brands in the Indian industry. With the models like R8, RS5 and TT in the super sports car segment and Q5 as well as Q7 in the luxury Sports Unity Vehicle (SUV) segment, the company continues to remain as the market leader. In addition, with the expected launch of Audi Q3 by the end of this year, the company aims to further strengthen its notch in the auto industry of India.

      Mr. Perschke further added, “Learning from our 21 years of market leadership in China, our strategy of building a strong brand, a high quality network and a strong product portfolio is paying its dividend also in India.”

      During this year, Audi further plans to mark its presence in the markets like Lucknow and Coimbatore, whereas will also consolidate its existence in the auto markets of Delhi and Mumbai. The new dealerships at these sites will be shortly announced by the company officials.

      The car portfolio of Audi India includes Audi A4, Audi A6, Audi A7 Sportback, Audi A8L, Audi Q5, Audi Q7, Audi RS5 Coupé and the Audi TT. The company has also introduced the super sports car Audi R8 and the Audi R8 Spyder, which is available throughout the country. Audi has based its dealers in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kochi, Kolkata, Ludhiana, Mumbai West, Nagpur, Pune and Surat. In addition to them, the process of expansion also includes markets of Delhi West, Coimbatore, Lucknow and Mumbai South.
