Audi debuts new Audi A5 Sportback ahead of the Paris Motor Show

Audi has debuted their next generation A5 and S5 Sportback before the official unveil at the Paris Motor show. These cars are expected to hit the European market in 2017, and will cost between EUR 37,800 (Rs 28.23 lakh) and EUR 62,500 (Rs 46.68 lakh).

When introduced, the cars will be available with the option of two TFSI and three TDI engines that could make between 190bhp and 286bhp. On the other hand, Audi’s S5 will sport a 3.0-litre V6 engine that produces 354bhp and can despatch the 0-100kmph sprint in 4.7sec, and hit a top speed of 250kmph. Transmissions include either a six-speed manual, an eight-speed or seven-speed auto. Audi will also introduce the A5 Sportback g-tron, which uses a 170bhp 2.0 TFSI motor that runs on natural gas or petrol.

Audi has developed the new A5 over seven years, and this version gets a stretched wheelbase, compact overhangs, and a wraparound fascia. While the profile depicts a prominent double crease, the rear is highlighted by an aggressively curved boot lid that splits the tail lamps.

Stay tuned to CarTrade as we’ll have more on this once the Paris Motor Show gets rolling in October.
