Audi launched the most eagerly awaited Audi A6, which is the all new seventh generation vehicle. The different engine variants of the Audi A6 are 3.0TFSI, 2.8FSI, 3.0TDI and 2.0TDI. This A6 model is equipped with a number of features taken from the Audi A8 such as the seven speed dual clutch and the start-stop technology. This model is incorporated with the slick-shifting automatic gear box, which adds on to the user friendly features of the car. The diesel engine variant of the A6 model will definitely BE POPULAR AMONG Indian customers as provides economical and performance centric driving experience.
The 3.0 TDI V6 diesel engine has 245 hp with a displacement of 2,967cc. The top performer among the range is the 3.0 TFSI, which offers 300 hp. This petrol engine produces a power of 300 hp and has a displacement of 2,995 cc. It is a unique engine offered by the company, which has a turbocharged setup and delivers more power by using 10-15 percent less fuel compared to similar engines. Moreover, a 2.8 liter naturally aspirated version will be used for the first time in the New Audi A6.
The official verdict is out and it is quite clear now that a hybrid-electric version of the Audi A6 will be launched in 2012 and will share its power-train with the Audi Q5 Hybrid. The overall weight of this model has been reduced so as to increase the efficiency of the car. The new car is 80 kg lighter than the previous Audi A6.
The various parameters which define the fuel efficiency of a vehicle are engine parameters, aerodynamic car body and rolling resistance. The Audi A6 being a complete hybrid car, fulfills all the parameters which influences the fuel efficiency factor. Besides, the car has an increased fuel efficiency, which is attributed to the start-stop technology that helps save significant amount of petrol over the long run.
After its launch, the Audi A6 will join the likes of Mercedes-Benz E-Class and BMW 5-Series. Audi India has high expectations from this model as the automaker strives to increase its market share in India. Moreover, Mercedes Benz and the BMW 5 series have been a part of the Indian automobile industry for a long time now. Hence, Audi, which is comparatively a new entrant in the Indian market, will have to face stiff competition.

Since its launch this is the first ever award earned by the Audi A6 Saloon. Audi A6 was chosen for this award by the panelist for the efficiency of its engine and upright dynamics.
