In order to channelise the power produced to the wheels of Audi A3, either a manual six-speed gearbox or a S-Tronic transmission system is expected to be packed within the model. Like other models of the same series, the new A3 sedan is anticipated to house a new Modular Infotainment System (MIB), Audi phone box, a high resolution 7-inch touch screen. Adding to the likes of model, it will come packed with a 705 W Bang & Olufsen audio system as a part of standard accessory.

Industry experts are of a view that the model will be introduced as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) in the initial phase. Depending on the success of the model, Audi India will then start the local assembly of this entry level sedan. It must be noted that the new Audi A3 sedan will be pitched under the currently offered A4 model. Post launch, the new sedan will deliver a stiff competition to the leader of premium entry level sedan segment, Mercedes-Benz CLA, which is also offered in a price bracket of Rs. 25 and Rs. 30 lakh.
