In the month of April 2012, the Honda Siel recorded a historical growth of 252 per cent by scoring excellent sales volumes of 7,705 car models. Comparing this figures against the same month of the previous year, the company showed a growth of three times Year over Year (YoY), as sales had been only 2,012 units last year.

Honda India took the amazing feat even further by posting total sales of 28,731 passenger cars in the first four months of 2012. This marks an astonishing leap of 71 per cent, compared to the meagre 16,789 cars sold last year during the same period. Due to an increment in the excise duty and other taxes introduced in the latest Union Budget by the Indian government, the price of all Honda models in the company's line up was raised.

The company's stylish and highly adored hatchback Brio, which sold 3590 units, accounted for more than 50 per cent of the company's total sales volumes in April 2012. The top selling hatchback is projected as one of the best débutante models in the automobile market of India. With sales figures of approximately 2,092 units in this month, the company's mid sized sedan Honda City secured the second position. The third position goes to Honda Jazz, touching the figure of 1,300 units, which was followed by Honda Civic that sold 51 units and Honda Accord with 25 units in the premium sedan segment. In the last is the only Sports Utility Vehicle in company's portfolio - Honda CR-V, with sales of 17 units. The market position of Honda India is bound to climb higher if it takes this year in the same stride as well.

In India, Honda has maintained its position as one of the most reputed and adulated car makers of the nation. Honda cars are one of the most preferred cars all over the country and are known for their impressive powertrains and brilliant mileages. The Japanese automotive giant Honda Motors and India's own Siel Limited shook hands back in 1995 to make cars. This Joint Venture (JV) is responsible for some of the trendiest and classiest cars sold in the Indian auto market.
