Aston Martin’s latest addition to their India line-up, the V12 DB11, has been showcased in India for the first time. The bookings are already open and the deliveries are expected to start from November. The V12 DB11 comes with a price tag of Rs 4.27 crore ex-showroom India and if you book one now, you will have to wait till 2017 to drive one home.

James Bond’s latest favourite car is a looker and comes with all LED cat-eyed headlamps. The signature gaping radiator grille with the winged logo on the long hood give it the aggression while the sleek lines add class to the fascia. The breathing slits on the bonnet make it look racy. The large 20 inch wheels come with a 255 profile tyre in the front and 295 in the back to help transmit all the V12 power to the tarmac. The Aston Martin DB11 is the first amongst the all new Aston Martins, seven models of which are slated to launch over the next seven years.

The DB11 is a grand tourer and hence ensures that you can traverse continents in the lap of luxury. Leather interiors, power seats, push-button start et al are just at the beginning of the comprehensive equipment list. You can also get your Aston customised by choosing from the bunch of optional extras the car offers. It does have four seats and a decently sized boot but the second row is best reserved for your handbags.

Coming to the engine, it is the legendary 5.2-litre bi-turbo V12 that belts out 600bhp of power at 6500rpm and 700Nm of torque from as low as 1600rpm. Mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox that sends power to the right set of wheels, the V12 DB11 reaches a top whack of 322kmph. You have ventilated two-piece disc brakes to cut your speed down whenever needed and comes with driving aids like ABS, EBD, ESP, traction control, skid control et al. It gets a 360 degree camera to ease parking and a cocoon of airbags just in case.

The DB11 competes with the likes of the Lamborghini Huracan, the Ferrari California T on the price tag. While the other two are focussed performance cars, the Aston is a much comfortable tourer.
