The country’s leading commercial vehicle maker Ashok Leyland is all set to roll-out its recently debuted Avia range of vehicles in the Indian market in the current fiscal. The company is currently manufacturing the Avia range vehicles at the Prague, Czech Republic. However, the Indian version of this series will be manufactured at the firm’s Pant Nagar facility.
While speaking to the reporters, Mr. Vinodh K Dasari, Managing Director at Ashok Leyland, said that the Avia range of vehicles will be manufactured at the firm’s Pant Nagar manufacturing unit. While further elaborating the company’s plans, he added that the company hopes to bring them by the end of this fiscal.
Initially, the new plant will be having a capacity of 30,000 units per year, and later on the company may decide to expand it after analyzing the demand o this series of vehicles in India. In the coming years, the Avia range of vehicles will be replacing the older Ecomet range of trucks in the European market.
