The Worli Police on Sunday has arrested a businessman after he was found driving his Lamborghini car at high speeds on the Bandra Worli Sea Link. The police have said that the accused was found zooming at reckless speeds towards Worli at Times Now editor, Arnab Goswami. The famous editor was also driving towards Worli and immediately informed the Mumbai Police control room.

S Jayakumar, Deputy Commissioner Zone III said, “The vehicle was intercepted at the Worli exit of the sea link and the driver was arrested. He was not found to be drunk at the time of the incident.” The accused was identified as Samvit Tara, who is a resident of Juhu and deals in home décor.

Rumours had been flooding the social media that Arnab was behind the wheels when this car was halted. These rumours also took wind when an image of Arnab floated, which showed him standing beside the red Lamborghini. However, the reports soon clarified that Arnab was not the culprit. Instead, he was just playing the responsible citizen during the incident.

The Bandra Worli Sea Link has been a driver’s paradise right from the time it was inaugurated in June 2009. It has been in news for a number of times for rash driving and other such incidents. As shown by Arnab, it is high time for the citizens to take the responsibility on themselves to prevent such rash driving on this crucial connecting link in the heart of Mumbai.
