The demand for high-performance motorcycles has grown at a significant pace, which has also led a number of premium bike manufacturers to focus on the Indian two-wheeler market. Aprilia has been present in the nation holding the hands of Piaggio, its parent company, since a long time. However, this might as well, change in the next few days as the Italian bike manufacturer plans to revive its strategy. The initial step in this aspect will be moving the Shiver 750 from its dealer network. The bike was initially showcased for the first time at the India Bike Week in Goa, to estimate the response.

The fuel tank is sculpted with a contrast coloured frame, a petite headlight with an under seat exhaust, which gives the Shiver 750 a startling appearance. The bike is powered by a 749.9 cc, liquid cooled, V-Twin motor, which is capable of producing 95 PS of power and a torque of 81 Nm. Mated with a six-speed gearbox, there are less chances of it appearing as an eight year old bike. The Aprilia Shiver 750 has employed a trellis frame, which is suspended on beefy USD forks on the front and monoshock suspension on the rear. The bike has employed ride by wire technology with three riding modes – rain, touring and sport. ABS has been provided as a standard on the bike and anchorage is provided by disc brakes on the front. The Aprilia Shiver 750 will rival the Triumph Street Triple, Benelli TNT 600 and Kawasaki Z800 in the market. It is speculated to reach the markets by 2015 and is tagged at 8 lakhs INR approximately.
