Aprilia launches Shiver 900 and Dorsoduro 900 in India

The new Aprilia Shiver 900 is the successor of the Shiver 750 globally, while the Dorsoduro 900 comes as a replacement to the Dorsoduro 750. Both motorcycles fall in different categories of motorcycles. The Shiver is a naked roadster and the Dorsoduro is a dual purpose motorcycle. However, both derive power from an 896 V-Twin mill paired to a six-speed transmission. The power output is rated at 95.2bhp and 90Nm of torque.

Aprilia had unveiled both the bikes at EICMA 2016. The Shiver 900 features traction control as standard, while the Dorsoduro 900 comes with a three-way traction control. Both the superbikes come equipped with a Bluetooth-controlled infotainment system with smartphone connectivity. Another highlight is a 41mm upside down front fork by Kayaba and a mono shock in the rear.

It is for the first time that the Shiver brand is being introduced to the Indian market. However, the Dorsoduro, in the form of the 1200, is already available in India and now the 900 joins it. Both the Aprilia Shiver 900 and Aprilia Dorsoduro 900 will be sold as CBU models. Bookings have begun at Piaggio Group’s Motoplexes in Pune, Chennai, Kochi, Bangalore, and Hyderabad. Deliveries will, however, begin by the end of this month.
