Aprilia, the Italian motorcycle company has joined hands with the popular American helmet manufacturer, Skully Helmets. This is a major step to increase the interactions between the rider and the vehicle and also to ensure a safety for riders.

According to the reports received, the two companies, Aprilia and Skully will co-develop an all-new rider-vehicle interaction aid for V4-MP, the Italian automobile manufacturer’s flagship application. The multimedia system is available on the Tuono 1100 as well as on the Aprilia RSV4. Apart from the features already available by the helmet, the final product will also have information via the V4-MP system, which will be displayed to the rider on the Skully helmet’s visor.

Skully has said that the helmets from its range improve the safety aspects of the rider by eliminating the requirements of the rider to take his eyes of the road. The helmets provide such a technology that all vital information can be recalled at any instant by a voice command and then projected on an area on the visor. Some riders might of the opinion that displaying vital information on the visor might shift the focus of the road from the road. However, the information is displayed on such a portion of the visor that it does not interfere with the visibility. Apart from this feature, the Skully helmets also feature a wide-angle camera, which helps them see what is approaching them without turning over their shoulders or checking the mirrors.

Skully markets its AR-1 helmet, which is one of the most expensive and the smartest helmets in the world. The price tag of the helmet is 1499 USD, which when converted comes to 94000 INR. Some of these might be imported to India, but it will definitely take a fortune to grab hold of one such piece.
