An MLA named Sandeep Naik from Navi Mumbai has reportedly written a letter to state's chef minister Devendra Fadnavis, in order to request him to wave off toll at Airoli, Mulund and Vashi toll posts for Navi Mumbaikars. Naik has also reportedly written to former mayor from Nagpur asking them to implement same exemptions at the yet-to-be-commissioned toll plaza in Kharghar.
Speaking more on the occasion, Naik said, “I have urged the CM to take a proactive call in relaxing toll for the locals at Vashi, Airoli, Mulund and Kharghar toll plazas. For instance, Navi Mumbaikars have to endure financial burden for double toll when driving to Thane. They have to pay to drive on Airoli bridge and at Mulund. I request the CM to waive off toll for vehicles with registration number of MH 04, 43 and 46 at all four toll posts.”
Apart from this, the issues affecting Navi Mumbaikars has also been highlighted along with emphasizing on release of state government notification on 2.5 FSI for reconstruction of City and Industrial Development Corporation (Cidco). Naik added, “Notification on regularization of gaothan constructions and slum redevelopment is also awaited. Though the files were cleared by Prithviraj Chavan, the new CM will need to clear the deck at the earliest.”
