Tata Nexon is expected to be launched soon, however the sub-four metre crossover has been spied with an AMT (Automated transmission) variant.
The images display the interiors of the Nexon with an AMT shift lever in the place of a conventional stick-shift. However, we expect the AMT to be a six speed unit. Apart from the AMT shift lever, the interiors are identical to the one on the standard car with all the bells and whistles such as Harman infotainment system that comes with 8-speakers, Android Auto and voice assistance.
Powering the Nexon is a 1.2-litre ‘Revotron’ petrol engine producing 108bhp and 170Nm of torque and the diesel variant is powered by a 1.5-litre ‘Revotorq’ engine producing 108bhp and 260Nm of peak torque. We highly anticipate that the AMT variant could be offered only with the petrol variant. However, only time will tell.
The standard variant is likely to be launched by the coming festive season, however, we also expect to see the AMT variant of the Nexon at the Delhi Auto Expo early next year. When launched, the Nexon will rival against the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Ford EcoSport and Mahindra TUV300.
