Ford India has created a distinct place for itself in the Indian auto market by being fully committed towards offering opulent and classy models, which have set an example in terms of technology and price.
As of now, the car maker is focussing upon providing upgraded look to its popular cars which include Ford Endeavour, Ford Figo and Ford Fiesta.
The latest vehicle to undergo changes is the Ford Fiesta sedan, which would be assimilated with a dual clutch automatic transmission. According to credible sources, it is confirmed that Ford will be unveiling the Ford Fiesta Automatic in India. However, the company declined to comment on the subject that is making news all around.
The all-new Ford Fiesta Automatic is expected to hit the Indian roads in the month of November or December 2011.
The new Ford Fiesta would likely be leading the sedan segment with a 6-speed dual clutch power-shift automatic gearbox that has found a place in the C-segment cars for the first time. The 6-speed dual clutch is usually offered in the D-segment cars.
If reports are to be believed, the Ford Fiesta with automatic transmission will be offered in the petrol version and would possibly be equipped with a descent and uphill aid.
With the upgraded and power-packed new Fiesta, Ford India would undoubtedly befit the high-class sedan section of the Indian car market, currently ruled by Volkswagen Vento and Skoda Laura.
The car will gear up to confront the likes of Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Maruti SX4, and Skoda Rapid.
The decision of not launching the new Fiesta in the diesel version seems to be a completely planned move, as the diesel technology proves to be highly expensive. This would subsequently increase the price of the car considerably.
Another aspect in the car that deserves a special mention is its 4-valve cylinder, which will generate more power and higher torque. To ensure an unprecedented driving experience, the powerful engine will be producing a maximum power of 104 hp, along with 153 Nm of torque.
Besides the automatic gear transmission, an innovative and enhanced handling system comprising Antilock Brake System (ABS) also makes its way to the new Ford Fiesta. The ABS would ensure that the car remains under control during slippery conditions, and also prevent the wheels from locking when sudden brakes are applied.
In addition, the new sedan will touch the extreme figures of speed at low RPMs, which will then lower down the fuel consumption, offering decent mileage to the buyers.
The auto major has offered the Paprika red colour option in the Ford Fiesta Automatic variant, in view of the tremendous demand for this attractive colour among other variants.
Thus, the Ford Fiesta Automatic vows to take the standards set by the other carmakers to new highs and offer a new platform for sedans in the coming time.
