Ford India that recently launched the new Figo hatchback and Figo Aspire, is now gearing up to introduce the new-generation Endeavour SUV that has been recently snapped at the company’s stockyard in Pune. This hints at the early launch of the vehicle. With the new Chevrolet Trailblazer and Toyota Fortuner in its sight, the new Ford Endeavour is expected to be priced between Rs. 20 lakh – 25 lakh (ex-showroom). The company will import the vehicle as CKD (completely knocked down) unit from Thailand, and then assemble it locally at its Chennai plant. 
The new Ford Endeavour will be made available with two diesel engine options – a 2.2-litre, four-cylinder TDCi and a 3.2-litre, five-cylinder TDCi. The former with a six-speed manual transmission offers a maximum power of 158bhp and 385Nm of torque, while the latter one with a six-speed automatic gearbox delivers 197bhp and 470Nm. The SUV will be offered with both 4X2 (only on petrol models) and 4X4 (only on diesel models) drivetrain options.
The SUV’s new-generation model is based on the company’s Edge design philosophy, and looks sportier than the outgoing model. On the front end, the car features a trapezoidal chrome grille, sweptback projector headlamps, LED daytime-running lights, revised bumper and fog lamps, and aluminum scuff plate. Other exterior updates include flared wheel arches, raked windows, large chrome bar with the number plate, new horizontal wraparound taillights, etc.
Features like SYNC2 infotainment system with eight-inch display screen, nine-speaker audio system, power adjustable third row seats, eight-way adjustable front seats, front parking sensors, Terrain management system with pre-adjust settings and driver knee airbags will also be on offer.
