Alfa's new sportscar will be called the 6C. After the 4C and the 8C Alfa is all set to unveil its next sportscar which will be dubbed the 6C. Pogea Racing, based in Germany with a recent history tuning and modifying Alfa Romeos, posted the claim on its Facebook page on the weekend. An early 2020 launch is being targeted, while a concept previewing the car will reportedly debut at a motor show this or next year.
If the new car follows the naming convention laid out by the 4C and 8C, which had four- and eight-cylinder engines respectively, the new model should be powered by a six-cylinder motor. Given the fact that the Giulia Quadrifoglio and Stelvio Quadrifoglio both employ a Ferrari-designed twin-turbo 2.9-litre V6 engine, it’s likely this new model, should it come to be, will use the same mill to achieve economies of scale.
