The German auto giant BMW has announced its plans of marking debut in the car leasing business in the Indian market. The announcement came just a few days after BMW’s arch rival Mercedes Benz’s announcement of introducing car leasing in the country.

The announcement came last week, when Dr Andreas Schaaf, President, BMW India, said that BMW India will start leasing cars in India. He was speaking at the occasion of a BMW xDrive Xperience event in Gurgaon.

Earlier, it was expected that Mercedes Benz will become the first luxury car maker that will introduce the car leasing business in the Indian market. However, now as BMW has sped-up the process of introducing car leasing in India, it would be the second first luxury car maker to launch car leasing in the country.

As per the market speculations, the interested customers would be able to buy the new BMW cars on lease for approximately 50 percent of the price tag for a period of 3 to 4 years. Moreover, the customers will be having an option of buying the car completely after the leasing period gets over buy paying the remaining amount.

Moreover, the company plans to lease cars through its outlets of pre-owned cars, which are expected to be launched in the Indian market very soon.
