Following plenty of hype, the Acura NSX has been officially introduced in China. At 2.89 million yuan (Rs 2.85 crore) a pop, the new NSX is rather pricey although that’s purely down to the high import duties in China.
The NSX is powered by a 580bhp, twin-turbocharged V6 engine which is paired to an all-wheel drive system and a new 9-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. While the all-aluminium monocoque shell of the original NSX was rather ahead of its time, the new NSX gets an aluminum and steel-intensive architecture.
The original NSX was a mid-engined supercar sold between 1990 and 2005. While it had earned the reputation of being an ‘everyday supercar’, the new NSX commands a lot more premium image and competes mainly with the Nissan GT-R in the all-wheel drive sports car segment.
