While testing Kawasaki Z250, the major problem was the lack of Antilock-Braking System (ABS). The major issue was that it is not the fact that ABS is not at all offered on this bike. In Japan, the bike not only comes with ABS, but also with ASC, which essentially means Assist Slipper Clutch. Now, on looking at the growing demands of the company, it has decided to launch the bike in all markets with these features. Slipper Clutch will be made mandatory on all bikes, while ABS is only come as an option. The ABS will definitely boost the weight of the bike by 2 kilograms. As a result, the new weight of the bike now stands at 170 kilograms.

This bike was unveiled last year and it went on sale for the first time in Japan in January 2014. At that time, both ABS and ASC was offered on the bike. Incidentally, ASC was not common on such low-capacity bikes. However, ABS has become quite popular on all bikes nowadays. However, even the Ninja 650, which is locally assembled in India with a speed range of 210 kilometres per hour, is not provided with ABS. Though there was a loud demand of ABS on ER-6n, the company did not provide the same on this model.

Apart from these aspects, the company also announced the launch of Z300, which is a naked bike based on the platform of Ninja 300. The Z250 uses the old powertrain of Ninja 250. There was no detail study bout the features, but it is expected that Z300 will also be launched with ABS and ASC, as well. It is expected to tag the Z250 at 3.37 lakhs INR. If it looks to decrease the price tag, it should start considering local manufacture of the bike.
