7,100 Toyota Corolla Called back due to Faulty Airbags

One of the largest Japanese car manufacturers have passed a notification for all the Toyota Corolla buyers whose cars were manufactured between April 2007 and July 2008. The notification demands a call back of the vehicles built in that duration in order to fix a problem being witnessed in the front passenger airbags. These airbags were manufactured and supplied by Takata, another Japanese firm.

This third recall of the company in 2015 has disturbed the image of the company in the eyes of its trusted consumers. Besides this, Nissan and Honda have also recalled their cars in order to repair the faulty airbags that were provided by the same manufacturer.

The previous recall was made on a national level by the Indian subsidiary of Toyota that goes by the name of Toyota Kirloskar Motor, in early 2015. The recall was focussed on the cars manufactured during the period from July 2003 to March 2007. There was also a recall in November 2014 for about 6,000 units of the cars manufactured in between June 2010 and May 2011. This recall was to replace the faulty components of the vehicle that allowed the entry of the engine oil into the air intake system.

The latest recall has been targeted for over 30 million cars worldwide making it one of the largest recalls conducted ever globally. One of the officials from Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) informed that for this global recall along with the pre-existent service campaign, the officials have announced a special service campaign for the side airbags of the models manufactured in the duration of April 2007 to July 2008.

Though this has been the third recall of the company in the past year, the officials at the company are still not worried about the faith that people are starting to loose in them. They simply state that these recalls are a step to provide extra and long lasting service to the vehicles they manufacture but if we concentrate on the facts, then it is evident that these recalls have been made to eliminate some problems, which must not have been there in the vehicles in the first place.
