The double-locking mechanism was developed by Aston Martin as a security measure of their cars but has resulted in a potential hazard as per the American laws regarding occupant safety. It affects Aston Martin cars produced between 2010 and 2016.

Aston Martin will re-programme the central locking mechanism at their dealerships free of cost. The affected models are the DB9 (2010-15), DBS (2010-12), Rapide & V8 Vantage (2010-16), Virage 2012, Vanquish (2014-16), V12 Vantage (2011-16) and V12 Zagato (2012-13). If you have any of these cars is India, it would be advisable to check at the nearest dealership if it is a part of the recall.
