Amidst all the extravaganza surrounding the 2014 Auto Expo event, Maruti Suzuki, the top selling Indian Car-maker is all geared-up to unveil its secret bag of goodies for auto fanatics. The event has always been utilized by Maruti Suzuki to showcase its fresh line of vehicles or launch a face-lifted version. Moreover, this particular Indian car manufacturer has always remained a preferred choice by the Aam Aadmi (common man). Reliability and Efficiency has always been the company lingo since its early inception days.
The car that shall steal the show for Maruti Suzuki would be the much awaited XA Alpha. The car is aimed to give the compact SUV segment that was ruled by International brands such as Ford, Hyundai and Toyota a tough competition. As per sources, the car shall be powered by a 1.5 litre diesel engine. It is also said that the diesel engine has been developed by Suzuki and the current line featuring Fiat's Multijet technology may be put to rest. For now, the car shall be available in diesel version, but a petrol version can be expected down the line. Reports also state that Suzuki is also developing a variety of engines, namely 0.8-litre, 1.2-litre and 1.4-litre, for WagonR, Ritz, Swift, and Ertiga to entice the audience. It is also worth noting that this would be the first SUV attempt from Maruti in this segment.
Another anticipated car from Maruti Suzuki is the Celerio hatchback. The car features 1.0 litre, 3 cylinder K-series petrol engine that churns out amazing power output of 67 bhp at 90 Nm max torque. Celerio has been boasting about its new automated manual transmission technology that allows you to drive minus the function of a clutch. Moreover, this technology is expected to deliver a better efficiency and does not add considerable weight to the car. It is also said that the company may consider incorporating the power-train technology in Maruti Suzuki WagonR, Ritz, Swift and Ertiga models. Some senior officials from Maruti Suzuki stated, “The Company is planning to march ahead even more aggressively in the current year. As the auto company is going to use the Auto Expo 2014 platform to showcase some inspiring model to steal the show at high note this year”.
